Operator of milling machines with CNC
In 2004, Svetlana Volkova joined NLMK-Ural Service's tool maintenance department. She became an operator of the new equipment, which, in fact, was at that time still in the implementation phase.
This profession is one of the most sought after in the shop, as the volume of turning accounts for more than 30-40% of the total output. However, turner's work is one of the most important ones, since most parts require 0.01-0.02 mm precision.
During her work on the site, Svetlana Volkova mastered several lathes produced by DMG, a German company. Moreover, to date, she is the only woman turner at the section. Not only she keeps the pace with the men, but at times, she also sets the pace of work.
